TEACHING & TRAINING

Creating a message, preparing visuals, and connecting with an audience is something I truly enjoy.

Interested in classroom experience, I began teaching at Red Rocks Community College in January 2014. As an adjunct instructor I

developed 8 and 16-week courses in personal finance, introduction to business, and small-business finance. My teaching philosophy is

heavily pragmatic, and I rewarded students that demonstrated tangible application of classroom topics. As a corollary, I allowed disengaged students to design independent studies for up to 100% of their grade. One of my greatest successes was guiding a class to develop and write comprehensive business plans. Every semester, I enjoyed above-average ratings from students and faculty

Bringing my experience to the credit union movement, I worked with Community Financial to develop a grassroots financial literacy program. I delivered topical seminars to schoolsbusinessesprofessional associations, and government organizations. In partnership with the Rocky Mountain Chapter of Credit Unions, I also worked to deliver educational courses in local libraries. In 2016, we received the Desjardins Adult Financial Education Award for top programs in the United States. In the end, the skills I earned in the classroom give me a unique ability to present information in all professional settings.
